BROWARD COUNTY, Fla.: A woman who fatally shot a man during an argument over a Walmart parking space will not face criminal charges, the Broward County State Attorney’s Office said Thursday.
Prosecutors concluded they could not prove the shooting was unjustified under Florida law. The decision closes a case that had already become a national “Florida woman” headline.
Bay News is not naming the woman in this report until and unless charging documents exist. The man who died has been identified in local coverage; his family has not issued a public statement through our desk.
Stand-your-ground decisions in parking-lot fights are now a regular product of Florida’s court system. This one will be cited the next time a lot argument turns into a gun case.
