TAMPA, Fla.: Nico Gramatica kicked four field goals and South Florida pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Florida International 19-9 on Saturday night, giving first-year head coach Brian Hartline a win in a season opener for both teams.
Hartline arrived from the Ohio State receiver room with a reputation as a developer. Saturday was about complementary football and a kicker who never missed.
The Bulls will take a 1-0 start into a schedule that gets heavier in a hurry.
